I think I made it maybe 5-6 chapters before I just couldn’t do it anymore and DNF’d. The beginning was so promising! I actually liked the opening. The dragons narration/dialogue didn’t sound like a bratty child… except then I realized the book isn’t actually about those dragons at all, and the rest reads more like the first Wings of Fire book, which I also had to DNF.

SORRY KIDS! I think middle grade books are just NOT for me!

I read these books aloud with my girls and this one was good. It is a look back two thousand years in the past from where the current books are to explore the story of darkstalker. The thing that sparked the most discussion for us was how people see things so differently. Darkstalker and Clearsight are experiencing the same events but interpreting them very differently. And does being able to see possible futures help you change bad outcomes? Good discussions.

(reread) read this back in like grade four and still like it, i’m pretty sure this is where my issue with liking all the vilains that we aren’t supposed to like started

i also think it’s pretty interesting watching him slowly go insane from him and his friends perspective but nobody really noticing until it’s too late

back in grade four i think this was the first book that i ever really cried over and it’ll always hold a special place in my heart (looking back i probably shouldn’t have read it in grade four)

I was a little wary that this story would not be able to start itself up and then wrap up before the end of the novel. I shouldn't have doubted. Just as fast-paced and fun as her previous books with just as much depth and world-building as previous books.

Also, I love Indigo.

Reread finished. I love Indigo even more and would love a book from Clearsight’s perspective.
