This was alright. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to follow up on Danny Torrance, though nothing will ever compare to The Shining, which I think actually had a satisfying ending. I was kinda sad to have had Wendy Torrance and Dick Hallorann glossed over as characters in this one, but I guess that's fine, the book was supposed to be about Dan, and toward the end
more about Abra I suppose. I'd for sure read a third book if it was more about Abra. I think Stephen does a good job touching on how the psychic abilities of teen girls affect them on a daily and psychological level but it leaves me wanting more depth.

I think the antagonists (the True Knot - or Naught, I listened to this so not sure about spelling) were kinda cartoonishly evil and too easily defeated. But that's fine with me, I'm usually more interested in character than action anyway.

Tons of content warnings in this one, some I may have forgotten to tag, but it's a King novel so...if you're sensitive tread carefully.

An interesting sequel to a timeless horror work, although it was kind of crude at times. Was NOT thrilled that a book written in 2013 had a character called by a racial slur. But the theme of healing from cycles of abuse and trauma was surprisingly well done!

Not as good as the original, but I read it in three days and  was engaged through the whole thing. I feel like it was a bit disconnected from the original, which is okay but wasn't to my liking.

I really loved this book. Almost as much as The Shining. It was just written so well. There was a lot going on in the beginning but it all tied in together so well.

4.5 stars. The more King I read, the more I appreciate his writing. I really loved this one, more so than I did the Shining (sorryyy) athough it has made me think about rereading the Shining at some point
