As someone who absolutely devoured Riley Sager's other books The House Across the Lake and The Only One Left, I had really high expectations coming into this book and I think that might've negatively impacted my overall enjoyment. I think this book just fell a bit flat compared to his other books. I called part of the ending well before the twist came which disappointed me, but I was still surprised with the major shock at the end that wrapped up the whole story. Ultimately, it was a really solid thriller that I do recommend I just think my really high expectations weren't met and that kind of disappointed me.

It’s rare that a murder mystery books has me crying, but this one did!! It was pretty tense at times and definitely kept me on the end of my seat.

*I thought the narration was really good -tho others have a different opinion about his various voices, which I can understand.
