I wasn’t expecting the ending, but it was anticlimactic. The book was good, but I probably wouldn’t reread it.

When the ending was first revealed, I thought it was underwhelming and I was waiting for bigger news. But, I think the ending and the story in its entirety is fantastic because it is so purely human. There is no black and white, it’s gray - something we often overlook. It’s got a great sense of creepiness and the red herrings were good ones, adding little bits to the plot and staying interesting (and complex) without getting in the way.

I like the dual timelines and different POVs. A slow burn. The twists are so good and each chapter leaves you on a cliffhanger. Who killed billy really surprised me in the end. I do like that it included some supernatural themes and that Billy was actually a ghost helping him when he fell into the falls. Ending tied everything together and left no questions. Great book

I overall enjoyed the story, but the main character was too gullible/easily swayed by new theories in a way that was annoying. The ending also had some plot holes, but was good overall.
