Tropes/Themes:
-MF contemporary romance
-Mafia (Capo x Mafia Princess)
-Arranged marriage
-Age gap
-Fiancé’s father
-Captor/captive
-Widowed hero
-Dual POV
-Book 2 in the Italian Kings duet (ends with HEA)
CWs for forced marriage, torture, murder, homophobia, and surprise pregnancy
Themes and content warnings apply to the duet as a whole.
This duet was messy and over the top but it was a fun time. The main problem was that I really didn’t like Frankie or Fausto, but I found myself fairly invested in all of the side characters which helped. Fausto literally had to do zero groveling to get Frankie back which was really obnoxious, and Frankie was so immature and whiny (which is one of my biggest pet peeve in age gap romances). This also didn’t need to get dragged out into two books, it made the pacing weird and disjointed. This duet was still a worth while dead, and now I’m super excited to pick up the next book. I’m also a sucker for a villain getting their own HEA.
Story: 3/5
Audiobook: 3/5 (the Italian accents are still a little cringey)

I read the first two of the series in 2 days. I loved the mafia elements in this book, the age gap didn’t bother me it was almost a forgettable aspect, the chemistry between
Fausto and Frankie was so strong nothing else mattered. The spice was 4star in both books. Frankie was a boss FMC. Loves these books
