The premise and the idea is good, but the execution? not quite so. It is intriguing only about 5% of the time, the rest is all useless fillers about the characters that we don't care about. I gave it 2/5 and that's me being generous. It was a tedious read.

This felt like a series of vignettes rather than a full cohesive story. A bit challenging to keep track of in the beginning. It felt like a bit of a thought experiment, which was super interesting.

3.75 stars!

I love speculative fiction and I love a big cast of characters and this book had it all. it was a little bit slow to start because we had to get introduced to everyone but I was always so curious to see what was going to happen! I listened to this on audio and the end of the audio book…so good. I love books that make you contemplate everything you think you know and don’t leave you with a clear answer. I don’t know if i’d reread this just because it can be a bit slow and dense at times, but I would definitely check this out if you enjoy speculative fiction!
