One of my favorite Trilogies. The audiobooks were so good.

I didn’t want to finish this book. I loved this series so much. And I hate the authors other works so I’m super sad this was the end of this series. Crying at being done. What will I do with my life now?!

*DNF*

I’m disappointed that I couldn’t get into this book after how much I was looking forward to it. The entire first chapter and most of the second was an uphill struggle, page after page after page of the main character feeling sorry for herself and blaming everyone else for her shitty mood. The pacing did not get any better after that.

Since I already lost touch of any endearment I might have felt for El in chapter 1, I really had to force myself to continue reading in the hopes that I might care about any of the other characters, but they were unfortunately equally as unlikable.

There seemed to be a rather noticeable lack of plot and story trajectory as well. 5 chapters into a 17 chapter book and I still had no idea what the goal was, what the threat was, who to root for and who not to trust. I didn’t have any choice but to put the book down and avoid wasting any more time on this pointless story.

Great way to finish the series !

Loved every second of the adventure & did not see the twist coming

Seems meandering with side quests, but side quests turned out to be relevant. Just as confused as previous books but generally enjoyed it. Might need to reread now that I know what's going on.

This book was an incredible finale in most ways, although I do think there was a marked shift away from a very heavy focus on plot and more of a focus on relationships, feelings, and the inner worlds of the characters.  Not to say that the plot was lacking, but it felt like there just wasn't as much to do in this book.

The reveals in this book were fucking electric.  Knowing that the maw mouths are CREATED as an after-affect of the enclave spell literally had my jaw hanging open.  And then the reveal that the male love interest was a HUMAN MAW MOUTH?  Shut the fuck up, I was gagged to absolute death.

I do think the little....side romance that the female main character and the like, class president had was kind of unnecessary.  I can see what the author was going for there, but it just didn't add anything for me.

Very slow beginning two thirds of the book but then it really takes off with shocking truths and action.  Nice ending to the Scholomance Trilogy.
