I’m floored by how much I enjoyed this book!!
At first I was genuinely confused and not sure where we were going but once I got past the chaos I loved everything about this book.
If you know me you know I love a good character arc and in the words of my bestie, Kate has the best character growth/arc I’ve seen in awhile!!
I also don’t love mixed media but the mixed media in this one WORKED
I loved the diverse cast of characters and once I understood the italic parts the whole story flawlessly came together. I 100% will be reading more of this authors work!

Read this if you enjoy contemporary fiction with a smidge of romance and a lot of character development.

This book was a nice, light summertime read. I picked it up based on a recommendation from some TV show (either The View or the Today show), and while I was able to get through it, I wouldn’t necessarily pick it up again.

if you get it you get it, if you don’t you don’t

sorry but i’m obsessed with amy poeppel’s books. reading them back-to-back have brought me out of a terrible reading slump, and unfortunately put me into another because i’ll miss reading about a big, weird ensemble of lovable (although sometimes questionable) characters. just like with her other 2 books i reviewed, i understand both the writing and the stories themselves won’t necessarily be liked/appreciated by everyone, but i certainly enjoyed them and can’t wait to pick up more of her books :-)

DNF at 45%. The main character seemed insufficiently endearing and the charms of the book wore thin. Definitely has its amusing moments, just didn't fully click with me.
