less frothy than expected - some poking fun at elementary school admissions in NYC, but also some real and interesting people.
I kept wanting this to be a Liane Moriarty book, but then it never was. Still enjoyable though!
3.5 stars. This was an odd book with an equally odd cast of characters and other than the title character, Kate, I unfortunately don’t feel like I ever got a good grip on any of them. The structure of the book was unusual though I did get used to it eventually and once I was about a third of the way through I couldn’t put it down. The best parts for me (and this won’t come as a surprise) were the juicy bits about Kate’s job in K-12 admissions at a private school. They were so realistic and relatable for me as a college admissions rep and kept me laughing and shaking my head the whole way through. I have more questions than answers now that I’ve finished this book, but I have to admit it was quite entertaining.

This book was a really entertaining audio book— light and funny with just the right amount of substance. Enjoyable, quick read!
None of the characters are likable and the story isn’t gripping. The writing is good, but nothing is keeping me reading.
This book is like cotton candy, it's light, and airy, and oh, so much fun! Sometimes you just want a fun beach or pool read. You want to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and a good book and this is that book. I loved it so much and I could not put it down.
