when i first started reading this book i was enjoying it but thought i would like it better if i listened to the audio book along side reading it. i was right. i’d be more open to read more non-fiction books or autobiographies if they were written this way. i didn’t read this book in search of something specific, i just thought it would be a good read which it was. while there were some parts i resonated with, there were others that went over my head that i’d probably understand better with experience.

Honestly shocked at how low I’m rating this but this book didn’t work for me at all unfortunately. I went into this thinking it would be so relatable and I’d feel like we’d have all the same experiences when it turns out it was the opposite and I ended up skimming a lot of this book.

Dolly lived a very different life to me so going through her experiences I just couldn’t relate to them. In saying that there were some parts I did enjoy and good quotes but as a whole this is definitely one of the most disappointing books I’ve read
