Fun read and premise, wish there had been a bit more depth or time spent on the supernatural, but it was overall a good horror book.

What a superb piece of storytelling! Reading this book was like being a child again and listening to those spooky fairytales that sometimes are told around the campfire. As a huge horror fan, I've seen movies like Child's Play numerous times and this book had that same feel but instead of a possessed creepy ass doll, the SHAPE (Michael Myers reference) in this one was a toy train set. That alone was intriguing enough to get my juices flowing, and by the end of the book, this one ended up undoubtedly become a modern-day masterpiece. From what I've gathered, this is Barclay's first supernatural thriller, and he knocked it out of the park. The story was fast-paced and super errie, and as the mystery continued to build chapter after chapter, I was hooked as I made my way through this one. There were some twists and turns that kept me on my toes, and the overall feel of this one really had me on the edge of my seat the entire time. Perfect book come Halloween time to add to your holiday tbrs and this would 100 percent make for one hell of a movie.
