Another negative is that she's a teenager. Why can't we have a spicy romance with a woman instead of a girl? I think it says she's 16... Just gross.
After their night together it jumps to a bunch of backstory that just confused me more compared to the explanations that were given in the beginning. I don't know if it was just poor translation or what.
I have no desire to read any more of the series.

The “spice” scene is at the beginning and consent is questionable. I suppose that it could be due to translation, or the fact that I am new to the style and story structure of Manga.

Wow, this series is starting off strong! Haha. Literally, within the first few pages she's concerned he's going to sex her to death...and she doesn't want to go that way...and he's being extremely possessive.
They met as children, and though she may not remember their promise to meet again as adults, he's been obsessing over her and orchestrating ways to make her his.
When her engagement, to a dick, is dissolved and she's cast out and forced to work in a brothel...he finally feels it's time to claim what's "always" been his.
We get:
-He falls first, if by fall you mean becomes obsessed and changes his life, and those around him, to ensure a future with her...
-"I'm your first AND I'll be your last"
-Anyone who even looks at her wrong...will regret it...and most likely be unable to touch anyone ever again
-Lady to commoner to lady again? Within the span of a few days

The first chapter is completely unhinged. I mean, the cover art is right there; the substance of what the story is going to be is on the tin. There's potentially an Underage element at play, since Cecilia's implied to be ~16-18yrs old, but anyone with an age gap squick should be ok because Lucas is IIRC 19. It's somewhat censored, but the first chap is basically a bit of exposition and then Lucas goes full horn dog. The rest of the volume fills in the little bit of story that came up before, which makes the pacing a bit wonky as it tries to backfill plot. We find out that they've known each other since they were kids and (sort of?) both liked each other. Or rather, Cecilia likes the idea of him and Lucas gets heart eyes and becomes a possessive stalker. Basically, please dear god don't read this expecting a good example of relationships. It's smutty manga leaning into all the dark romance tropes.
tbh, my biggest complaint? She calls him 'Lord Lukie' and I just can't, y'all, I can't.
ETA: I've now read all of the Steamship titles currently available except for 'I Can't Refuse S' and since FIHF reminded me that I prefer to read comics digitally, I'd say my order of best to worst based on the first volume for each series is: Game, a tie for second between I'll Never Be Your Crown Princess and Outbride with maybe the nod going to Crown Princess, Villainess and the Demon Knight, and then tied for last is FIHF and Ladies on Top.
