I picked this up knowing nothing about it with quite low expectations and was absolutely blown away. This book was tragic, dark and harrowing but also genuinely funny and relatable, with twists in the plot I didn't see coming. I would definitely recommend but be prepared for some very vivid descriptions of death and decay.

Wow, just wow. The start of the book was hard but as I got used to the circumstances, it gor easier. After half-way through I didn't want to stop reading at all.

this book was amazing. i loved it so so much. HOWEVER some parts were definitely hard to read, and i don’t know if i would’ve picked this book up if i was aware of the amount of gore in it.

there are some really distressing (and detailed) scenes including both animals and humans. the story being set in 2023 is also anxiety inducing, as we are still living through a pandemic. the idea of another one so soon, and it being more severe, is scary.

i really enjoyed the main character. she felt very human. some people pointed out some inconsistencies in her character and the plot itself, but honestly if i ever did question anything, it was never significant enough to spoil the book for me

That ending just infuriated me. I have no other words at this time.
