A bit too devastating to be read on covid times, but a really interesting look into what makes us go on or not.

I liked this book! The overall mystery of this island and what is happening is so intriguing, I thoroughly enjoyed reading most of it in 1 sitting ! It is not a long book, and I think it could've done with some more content towards the end, maybe some closure on these mysterious events that occurred, but that's up for personal opinion. It is definitely still worth the read, I think it does end well and shows the importance of our memories and how they shape our lives ! :)

Beautiful, visually evocative book that really gave me a lot to think about. Especially loved the story-within-the-story about the typewriter and the teacher

HAUNTING... I like dystopian and I like gothic but honestly the ending has stuck with me months later and not for a good reason. Well written for sure, but please only read this when you're feeling in a good place, it's a book that slowly creeps up on you and
I kept reading it hoping the ending might be resolved positively... and then it quietly and swiftly pulls you into complete hopelessness
