I am re-reading all of my older Nora Roberts books and eventhough they are totally predictable and lack real depth, I just love them.
They make me feel good every single time I read them and I will be re-reading them for years!

I normally do not count rereads on here, but even though I know I’ve read this before I genuinely think it’s been 20 years and I remembered barely anything about it, so.

A lot to like here, the brothers’ relationship is so good and I like the romance. What I do not like, however, is the extreme ethical violation of a social worker getting involved with a member of a family she’s caseworker for?? Like. Nora. And I’m sure I’m sensitive to it because of my background (full disclosure, the reviewer has an MSW that she is not currently using). But this is the second NR book I’ve read this year where I’ve had to be like “I know it was the 90s but COME ON.” (The other one had a therapist dating her patient! Also bad!!)

I read this book while in the hospital to stave off the boredom. It definitely did that!

Enjoyable enough to keep reading the series as some light fun, but definitely a reminder why I don’t read romance written last century. Definitely some parts that rub the wrong way a little.

This isn't the sort of book I normally read. I had a long road trip, and, for escapism, this filled the bill. It actually wasn't that bad. Interesting premise, decent, natural dialog, well-developed characters, and a bit of bodice ripping; not too much and not too graphic. I kept turning the pages, so, yeah, I can see why Nora Roberts sells. Any real life social worker who did what Robert's character did would have serious boundary issues and would have had her ass fired in no time. However, this is escapism, and therefore I will not quibble about that too much. I will now go back to my regularly scheduled reading of classics, etc.

Chesapeake Bay Saga #1
Cam & Anna
Cam (son of Ray Quinn) is a successful speed boat racer who comes home as dad is on his deathbed. As a dying wish, Ray asks his 3 sons to live back home together is care for his 10 y/o foster child, Seth (who is rumored to really be Ray's bio son). Cam reluctantly does so, giving up his flashy lifestyle. Anna is the social worker assigned to Seth's case, to make sure he's in good care with the 3 brothers. Cam & Ann fall in love...good story.
