This is Grave's story and the 2nd book in the Dark Kings series.I was absorbed from the start and loved April and Grave's relationship. The story is gritty and full of heart stopping moments that made me gasp. I actually felt sorry for Lucy as I felt she was so lost and what happened to her made me so mad. A truly gripping story and i can't wait for the next book.

Absolutely LOVE the Dark Kingdom series. Troubled bad boy ✔️, great character growth ✔️, and just the right amount of drama ✔️. Did I mention the troubled bad boy is hot, covered in tattoos, and has an abundance of testosterone?!?✔️

Grave is absolutely one of my favorite character Shantel has ever written about. He’s so raw, complex, strong, and persistent. He’s been through so much but truly only wants someone to love him. He starts out as an absolute broken soul and by the end of the book he has you falling in love with his soul and his progress as a person. I really loved this story so much.

I have been in a slump since the end of march, nothing really sticks with me. Then my friend in my buddy read group, gave me major fomo regarding this book & I finished it in a day & a half. Mainly fade to black spice, character driven & no real plot but I enjoyed it and I think it got me out of my funk.
This book has some very triggering content so please read the trigger warnings.
