While I never seem to particularly enjoy the openings of E K Johnson’s books, this one was interesting from the first paragraph. I really like the depth it gave to the handmaidens and the way it represented Padmé’s genius and collaboration skills.

One of the funniest Star Wars books I've ever read. Everybody's the right amount of insane, Panaka is having a hard time with a group of teenage girls and Obi-wan's relationship with Satine gets mentioned. Readers get to know about Palpatine's plans for how he is going to decorate his office when he becomes the Emperor. What an amazing text.
