Liked the feel and plot of this, kind of a Tron plot set in a Blade Runner type setting. Felt the ending was a bit rushed and what the hell was that with the Dune sand worms?

World Building: neat
Story and character: dull and honestly nothing special.

I don't know why this book is getting bad reviews because it's great. I thought it had good world development, the main character was realistic (unlike a lot of YA), it kept my in the edge of my seat and best of all the romance in minimal. There's is sort of a love triangle but it's so small it doesn't really matter. The story isn't surrounding fighting for the man she loves, and she isn't torn between two men. A very refreshing YA with a very interesting story.

I think the thing I liked most was that it all seemed so plausible. Like this could very well be where our world is headed.

Elusion is the "new" world. A place to hang out, see things you'd never see before. Go camping, hiking or enjoy a waterfall - things you can't do in a world that's been destroyed. Where the air is dangerous and the rain is toxic, a way to get away and enjoy the world how it was during our time sounds like heaven and possibly too good to be true.

Which Regan is discovering might actually be true.

Regan is the daughter of the founder of Elusion. After a tragic accident. Regan loses her dad and it's just her and her mom now. But she's best friends with Patrick - the boy who took over the company after her dad died - and they are close

At a party to announce the soon-to-be everywhere Elusion, Regan meets Josh and he makes her seems to wake her up and make her start thinking again. And now Regan seems to be wondering about the news reports and the claims that Elusion is dangerous.

Meh. all in all, I found the story to be interesting. But I didn't love the match up and I wasn't totally sold on the best friendship. I would like to find out where this goes though, because I think the intro at the end might be an interesting book 2.

I actually really liked the book! It has a Sci fi mystery feel too it with interesting characters. It ended on a cliff hangar. Overall, well written.

Feels like a fresh, creative take on the YA dystopia genre. Love!

Something about this book and I did not click. Unfortunately. I was really excited to read this new twist on a dystopian, and the plot itself was actually quite good, but I had trouble with characters. Especially Regan and Josh, which is where I hit a problem because they were the main ones.

Regan rubbed me the wrong way, because sometimes she'd speak up in defense of her late father's project and she'd sound like a genius, but then she was super oblivious about stupid things and it was irritating. And I didn't get she and Josh as a couple. She and Patrick, I would have understood; they knew one another forever. She and Josh (as Patrick aptly points out) knew one another for a week. And in that time Regan was willing to change her entire worldview based on him and his friend/her "arch nemesis'" ideas and plots, which involved turning her back on the guy who'd been her best friend for her ENTIRE LIFE. So that didn't work for me.

I also would have liked a clearer view of this future world, though overall the authors did a pretty good job. And I'm excited about the way it ended (even though I kind of saw it coming [except for the 5020 thing. That was a surprise]}.

Three stars looks like so little but...
Really it was a two star but the ending was great.
Just....what. I wanted to like this book so much. LOOK AT THE COVER.
Disappointing. I wanted it to be this eerie whimsical cool concept. I mean I fell in love with the concept. Instead it was this big mess of media....sciency wimey....weirdness. Honestly. Predictable plot twists, cliche sentences....a really annoying dumb MC. Like seriously all her little crafty naive sayings that lead up to a "cute" BUT EXTREMELY ANNOYING romantic thing for Love Interest to say.
The only interesting charrie was Patrick.

Other than that it was just okay. I mean I liked it but it was just ok. I give the middle a 2.5 But the ending was great. The last few pages were brilliant, it gives a lot of promise to the sequel coming out. *nodnod*

Less supernatural, and more wierd sciency government stuff. Not very Dystopia is and not really Eutopia. They hinted at a few dystopia ish things, like places being gone, Oxygen masks but I didn't even know what they were for they were barely there.

Still, it was a enjoyable read. Wasn't too boring, just wasn't what I was hoping for. (I feel like this is a debut, with all it's formulaic themes and stuff, but it isn't)

I may have won an ARC for this book, but I am so glad I did. I cannot stop gushing about it right now. The way that the story kept you constantly involved and just constantly ready for more was fantastic. I really, really, REALLY, want them to write at least a sequel because this book deserves a sequel. It just does. LOVE IT! Love it! LOVE IT!

Added review from my blog:I just finished Elusion last night, and I can happily say that I'm now obsessed with this fantasy world. I think I might have nanopsychosis. (: Oh the references I can now make. This was one of the best fantasy-tech-dystopian-ish novels I've ever read. The way that this book keeps you constantly engaged with what's going on and the twists and turns that hit you out of nowhere. It's like watching a T.V. show you just can't get enough of. I kid you not, I literally got so lost in reading this book that at more than a few points, I forgot that I was even turning pages. That is the kind of enthralled that I always hope to get when I read a book and I think I found that beautifully in this book. The only thing I'm not a fan of about this book, besides Patrick being a jealous asshole, was that this book ended. I have no complaints about anything in this. And, as you can tell by my last review, that's incredibly hard for me to say. There's usually always something in a story that I wish I could have changed, or at least, seen more of. With Elusion, there was none of that, only the very real need to read more about this world and to see a sequel. Because, I desperately need a sequel. That's kind of funny though, considering I know that the book just came out on the 18th of March. Although I did get an ARC for this book in a Goodreads giveaway. I cannot say how thankful I am that I was able to win an ARC for this book. If I hadn't, who knows how long until I would have been able to sink my brain into this land of fantastic things and places.

Claudia Gabel and Cheryl Klam, you should applaud yourselves, because you have done a marvelous job. I just hope you have a sequel in mind, because the fans and I would be forever lost without one.
