There were a few too many characters in this one to properly follow what was going on at times, but still a good start to a new Shadowhunters run!
And, for once, a Herondale didn't annoy me, which has never happened with these books, so that was a major plus!

I LOVED this book. I’m pretty picky with fantasy (I get bored if it’s too dense but then can’t stomach the writing in easier reads like Fourth Wing) but this was the perfect combination of action, enjoyable characters, politics & intrigue, with a pinch of romance. It almost felt Ken Follet-y, or like if you took the Bridgerton show and put a bunch of demon fighters in it. I would probably recommend this if you enjoyed Six of Crows!

love coming back to shadowhunters world when i want a fantasy fix but i cba to understand a whole new world and this did not disappoint and definitely sets up really well for the rest of the series
