I’m not a big drinker so I found myself so annoyed with her alcoholism, but she def had a reason to drink lol. But I think that was the point.. to be annoyed with her. I enjoyed the book otherwise. Very twisty! Easy read!!

I enjoyed the story, but I didn't enjoy the supernatural elements that seemed to come out of nowhere.

Ok. The plot twist in this hit me like a freight train in the fact that I was not expecting it AT ALL and I in no way predicted or saw it coming till it was running me over and leaving me a shook ass mess LOL. The way my heart was beating out of my chest the last 20% because I was listening on audio and didn’t know what what gonna happen next. I was jumpy beyond belief.

This is only my second book I’ve read from the author but both have had me so captivated and confused in the best possible way. I really enjoyed it!

This book is so polarizing but I liked it. The scenery was beautiful the plot twist was a little all over the place, but I was invested overall.

Plot threw me for a loop and wasn’t as thrilling as some of the others I read. It’s alright, some surprises but overall just okay.

Finished The House across the Lake, I'm struggling to give this more than a 6/10

The book gets a 6 for the writing style, the first half and because I score slightly more liberally than most

The writing style is smooth, easy and free-flowing and the author does an amazing job building up the sense of suspense for like 2/3rds of the book, but IMGO has lost ALL his goodwill with an absolutely unnecessary twist in the last 1/3rd
The author has somehow managed  to switch genres entirely, while still going nowhere with said change, leading to a nothingburger of a resolution

Char dev is complicated, because there's strong NEGATIVE character development lmao

My first WOULD NOT RECOMMEND of the year, probably (I finished this book in Mar 2024)
