It was very entertaining, especially near the end. Although the main character is a little bit of a Mary Sue, and some of the secondary characters are not entirelly fleshed out. There is especially a lack of characterization on women, most of them being just described as beautiful. There is a bit of r/menwrittingwomen, but can be excused as the narrator's naïve and conservative relationship with women. The lore is quite interesting, however there are some things that feel like plotholes, perhaps they are resolved on the next books. I would probably read the next books, granted if the protagonist is less of a Mary Sue and the secondary characters are more fleshed out.
