Formulaic, cliche ridden, gratuitously unpleasant and poor characterisation. Advertorials abound.

Dead Man's Grave introduces readers to DS Max Craigie. Who has recently transferred to Police Scotland from the Met and finds himself working with the diligent DC Janie Calder and the salty DI Ross Fraser. When he's tasked to search for a missing person. Although not normally his job. This missing person happens to be notorious gangster Tam Hardie nicknamed the peeler. He is the head of a family that runs numerous criminal enterprises throughout Scotland.

What Max doesn't expect is to find Tam dead and have his killer in custody within just a matter of hours.

However, the result is met with tremendous joy from his bosses and their commanding officers. But Max isn't quite ready to celebrate. As there are tons of unanswered questions, questions that many in Police Scotland don't seem bothered by.

Yet, when family linked to Tam's killer begin to die. Max decides it's time to get answers and prove that Tam Hardies loved ones are responsible and that his colleagues are purposely looking the wrong way.

But who can Max really trust? And how does he go about proving there is a network of bent coppers helping the family of one of Scotland's most infamous gangsters.

And with shocks, surprises, twists and turns. Not to mention great characters and humour. Dead Man's Grave is a story that grabs your attention and never lets go. And I would one hundred percent recommend it to others.

This book is just incredible.

This is truly the best crime/detective book I’ve read!! It makes all the others seem mid.

The characters were really well developed, and the story un-ravelled seamlessly. I’ll be 100% purchasing books by this author again.

The ending was very satisfactory. The book hooked me from the beginning. I wasn’t bored once. Couldn’t put it down, once I got 10% the way through.

It’s a MUST to read
