I enjoyed Hunger much more than the first one in the 'Gone' series. Reading this didn’t feel like a chore, and I didn't want to stop reading. The writing was descriptive and I understood the story better. I could sort of relate to the characters and their thoughts/feelings.

Why. Is. This. Series. So. Good.
I for some reason put off reading this for like five years. And now I desperately want to have time to get to the third one. I NEED ANSWERS.

Concept is still interesting but this book was WAY too long. It was exhausting to read. It could have been cut in half.

I would rate the last 30% of this book four stars and the first 70% three stars. I felt that the first part was a little slow, depressing, and repetitive. It was a really grim book and I was glad for the breaks I had to take to get other things done. Also there were some things that bugged me. One of them being... There is also an introduction of a lesbian character in this book which isn't my favorite thing to read about. Thankfully, it wasn't graphic or a major part of the story.
Overall, I really enjoyed the characters and and I'm really curious to see what happens next. I've already read a good chunk of the third book in the series. I am addicted!
