A shooting party in the countryside paired with a wedding spells trouble but who is the intended victim? Frances and George have their work cut out for them. The culprit is clever and covers their tracks well but they might have met their match when coming across a lady like Countess Harleigh. She's independent and assertive but not annoying about it.

Three stars for the characters (while this may not be their strongest showing, I liked them in the previous books of the series). Writing quality is solid too, but I felt like I was one or more steps ahead of the characters as they tried to solve the mystery. I think at this point I'm here more for the society than the mystery, though I'd love to see this author develop their mystery plotting and pacing to match the quality of some of the other aspects of her writing. At the end of the day, I'll probably still read book 4, so I can't complain too much.
