There is no Volume 4 and it likely won't have one. This volume ends with a cliff hanger. If you're okay with an emotional romantic read that leaves you on an emotional cliff of "I need to know what happens next" and knowing that there likely won't be a next volume, this book is for you. You can headcanon your happy ending at least.

Cute. Great art style. I love Kit!! I was intrigued by the multiple storylines in the last chapter; they made me feel like I was inside Julie's anxiety spiral.

I really enjoyed this! So much so that my lowering of the rating was due to the fact that I feel that this volume needed to be longer. Stories established (or continued) in this volume deserved some conclusion that wasn't reached. This was definitely a bridge-volume in the best way possible. Fun note: this was the first time I'd seen the title Mx. used for a character <3

I really want to like this book. The art is excellent, and I adore seeing the diversity of ability (both in magically different abilities and in nonmagical human disabilities) depicted here. The background characters are stunning. Three cheers for mermaids that use water wheelchairs instead of magically transforming into humans with feet. I also especially loved when the pages flipped over. That really set the right tone for the scene. Unfortunately a lot of the writing in this book feels like it’s still in the upside down.
The relationships in these books read really flat. Like... one minute they’re fighting and they think the other hates them, the next they’re kissing and saying they love each other?? The characters emotions towards each other don’t carry over well from one part of the story to the next, it seems like they’re just whatever is convenient for the plot. Considering I started reading this series for the romance and stayed for the mystery, it left a sour taste in my mouth. The art is super cute tho.
