I haven't read anything like this. It was beautiful. Martin is a lovable character and I love him enough to cry like a child at the end. I think it was about me too because I felt like I knew him and this life. This is probably the first time I've internalized a book this much since reading Harry Potter at the age of 12.

This book is a masterpiece from the beginning to the end.

"It never entered his head to be ashamed of those he knew"

The second Jack London book I've read, his weird veneration of women I find a little off putting, but he is undeniably one of the great imaginative writers
