I really hated the beginning but it got much better, thank goodness

During the email phase I find it so weird how Lily just word vomited to a complete stranger and then kept sending multiple emails in a row. Very cringe. And Nick's constant self-deprecating statements were annoying. Bad decisions are not hereditary. You don't want to be like your father? Okay so be better. It also really pissed me off how he led Lily on via email, then when they met in person, and still when he found out who she was. Come on bro, you're an adult. Use your words

My favorite part of this book is probably how bookish it was and how Lily and Nick were both in the industry and book nerds <3

They fell in love way too quickly for my liking though, and I never really felt that it was…idk “real” isn’t the word bc they were sweet and seemed to believe it themselves, but maybe more like I wasn’t invited into their love story. Because I have no clue why they love each other. I never got to see that development.

It’s honestly a bit pathetic. You exchange a couple of emails with someone who listens (other than your sisters for Lily, who didn’t when it came to her love life, and other than his best friend for Nick) and that’s what instantly does it for you…alright.

Anyway, to me this was a light, fun read, but not a must read.

my first 5 star read of the year, FINALLY!!
