Grief is a sneaky bitch….
I really loved the format of the book with multiple narrators and time periods that unravel the mystery. The introduction is also quite gripping and I felt the same level of intrigue throughout the journey. The audiobook production was also excellent!

This book reads like if Midnight Mass and It had a baby and then that baby married Head Full of Ghosts and had this baby book. I couldn’t put it down and am eager to see what else the author comes up with!

Interesting

Just meh. I again was suckered into a book by some ad and the cover artwork. Somewhat intriguing story. Less then stellar execution though. Characters are all somewhat flat. And the amount of loopholes - even fit a fantasy horror sci fi novel - is endless. I need to learn my lesson in buying books based on the cover.

3.5 stars, rounded up for the vibes. Atmospheric. Eerie. Read like Goosebumps for adults. Ending fell a liiiiiiiittle flat but it was a fun debut novel.

A fun, if somewhat predictable found footage horror romp. It did legitimately creep me out a few times. I think the ending could have been a little less rushed.

A BANGER of a debut novel. I don’t get scared easily by books but this freaked me out

The horror aspect was very underwhelming and the book beats you over the head with its theme. Still, I liked parts of this world (mainly the creepy '90s-inspired island) and the characters. Willow was a great lead and deserved better.

SpoilerNothing can destroy a story for me faster than a supernatural element. The big secret behind Clifford Island reminded me of the disappointing ending of Hereditary. I hated that movie.
