Dead Eleven by Jimmy Juliano is a solid exploration of grief, guilt, and the path to healing. While it presents an interesting horror story, the novel begins very slowly and does become repetitive towards its conclusion.
🎧: The main narrator (representing Harper) is fine, but the limited cast presentation is strange. I eventually realized why some of the chapters are read by the main narrator and others are not; however, I would have made a different choice.

This book started out strong. I was intrigued. It felt like it was going to be a spooky slow-burn. Then it just became slow. And then it became silly. By the end I was just ready for it to be over and hated every character.

Peak supernatural thriller. Intrigue, suspense, and a mostly satisfying ending. I enjoy the different types of chapters: interviews, recordings, articles, and texts. I think they certainly added a fun element to the book.

Unfortunately, this one didn’t do it for me the way I thought it would. While I like a good slow burn suspense this was just too drawn out for my taste, especially for the amount of pay off in the end. There were parts I enjoyed, but overall it was just okay.
Im not sure what genre to call this— paranormal/supernatural meets nostalgic cult horror?— but between this and Mister Magic I really need to stop reading it.
This was SO good!!!!!!! So fast-paced and the slow unveiling of the truth was masterfully done. The ending lost steam a bit for me, but I genuinely had such a great time reading
