It was a fun idea, the only issue I had was it could have been shorter by cutting out some unnecessary repetition.

Great book. The author does a great job at building a creepy atmosphere while also building up some really great characters. The book tells a good story and ends pretty satisfactorily. While the ending is not some crazy grand finale of a ending it still does a good job of wrapping up the story in a satisfying manner. I think it would have been interesting to hear more about Conner, as he plays a big role in the story without getting a ton of development himself.

Despite these couple small critiques though I still really enjoyed the book and would recommend to anyone looking for a nice mystery/thriller book with a lot of heart.

While I felt the book ran a little long, I enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm a big fan of found footage-style horror books, and it worked quite well with this story.

An interesting idea that takes far too long to develop. While I generally enjoyed the “found media” approach, it sometimes led the story in circles, covering the same plot point multiple times with little development or payoff. While it definitely needed some trimming, the central metaphor is strong enough to carry the story.

4.5 ⭐️!!
Like normal horror novels, this was a slow burn even though it also started off with some crazy stories. I feel like some parts could have been cut shorter to get to the point, but overall everything connected really well and the reveal about what was going on on the island was well done and unique.
I enjoyed how the story was told through different POVs as well as articles, text messages and interviews. The different formats definitely helped break uo the length a little bit and all of the POVs were easy to follow and necessary for the story to completely unfold.
