aw damn -- I re-read this because our book club picked it and I wanted to see if I would hate it less and rate it higher and I ended up hating it more and rating it lower :D
This was SUCH an exhausting read. I can't believe how annoyed I got with all the made up words/phrases. To me it felt very Lewis Carroll but in a tryhard, annoying as fuck way, to the point where by the end of it I was less amused and more pissed off every time I heard "bitch curtains" and "diamond proems" and the use of the word "so" as an adverb. UGH! I did love how hopelessly gay and pining she sounded talking about Ava, though. Anyway, I'm gonna read that Paris Review interview with the author and hope that it takes some of the vitriol away from my review.

One of those books that hooks you from the first sentence and never lets up. What is NOT to like about this book? Obsessed with the aesthetics of the bunnies and I kind of thought they sounded cool even though our protagonist loathes them. And come to find out they are witches who slaughter bunnies to manufacture men?!

Bunny follows Samantha who feels like an outsider, and she is in a MFA program at a prestigious university. The rest of her cohort is made up of a clique of 4 rich girls who refer to each other as Bunny. One day, the Bunnies invite Samantha to join them, and she plunges into their world.
The book was a bizarre trip. The plot is seemingly normal at first, but as the story progresses, it gets weirder and weirder. There are graphic scenes, so the book is best for mature readers. In the end, I was left questioning what was actually real. It also makes me question what I think about the book and if I liked it. I think I liked it to an extent. However, because it was so strange and out there, it is not one of the best books I have read.
