While I could see glimpses of myself in all 3 Brown sisters, Dani resonates with me most of all. Reading about — a confident woman who is so often full of self-doubt and fear, the girl who was always smart, nerdy, and preferred books and learning to building relationships with people growing up to be the academic chasing her phd dreams, the witchy woman with wild and shocking hair — was like looking into a mirror. This book was sweet and sexy and funny. The characters are relatable and loveable. The plot is believable and best of all it’s a friends to lovers trope instead of enemies to lovers! All the romance tropes are silly to me, but Hibbert can do them all well, and this novel is no different. Finally, the spicy scenes didn’t let me down, either.

My favorite part of this was the fact that the hero struggles with anxiety. I really enjoyed the lack of toxic masculinity :)

Her writing style isn't always my favorite, but I really enjoy the characters that Talia Hibbert creates and the relationship dynamics she explores. I will definitely be reading more!

If Zafir were real and I had an ounce of talent, I'd write him Taylor Swift-style love songs because he'd be King of My Heart.

But I thought Dani was kind of toxic, I'm sorry. Did I think that because the way she treated her last "partner" throughout the entire book (yes even the ending) hit a little too close for me and my feelings were hurt? Maybe. My feelings are valid and I said what I said 😭

there were parts i liked, and parts that bored me to death. i ended up skimming a lot of this book-i loved the relationship and representation, but sometimes it got really really boring. this book had a slow beginning and end, i still don’t know why there was a fight introduced with 80 pages left. in my opinion it was unnecessary. but i like the authors writing style and the Brown sister’s bond they share throughout the series. i have to say, i know that the plot was kinda the internet sensation but overall as a reader i forgot that, as it wasn’t mentioned all too much which was honestly fine. i can definitely say this series screams millennial-but in a bit bad way. the story was funny and cute at times, but mainly forgettable.
