This is a story about a woman whose father left her and her mother when she was young to start a cocoa plantation in Ecuador. He has now passed and it is time to go collect her inheritance. And that’s when the story gets wild, there is murder, secret children, affairs, secret identities, and lies oh so many lies. This book was straight up like a Telenovela, it was twists and turns every step of the way and I loved it! I hate when I can predict a story, especially in a murder mystery, but I did not have a clue who did what until the very end. It was such an interesting nov and I highly recommend it. It had me gasping out loud , all the characters had a secret or two.

Puri, born and raised by a single mother in Spain, travels to Ecuador to meet her father's second family after he dies and claim her inheritance, a majority portion of a successful cacao plantation. Her journey encounters loss, love, mystery, deceit, prostitutes and secret identities.

Each chapter is dedicated to one of the main characters in the book and progresses the story along as well as offers excellent character building.

Everything comes together. Very telenovela-esque at times, but without too much over the top storyline.... although a priest impregnating his secret half sister's cousin and a woman pretending to be her dead husband as her own death is faked does sound outrageous.

Just read it!!! IT WAS GREAT! I'm on the verge of re-rating it a 5 start review, because the more I talk about it the more I <3 it.
