I really enjoyed this read - a story of a woman trying to solve her own (attempted) murder by pretending to be her husband. Loved the setting, chocolate, family dynamics, and plot twists (a bit predictable but still exciting)

Listed as historical fiction but I learned most of the history behind it from the author’s note at the end. Good story although the ending, where everything was wrapped up, felt rushed.

This was…not great. Not a believable storyline and not believable how the characters acted and also rushed at the end.

This book had a lot of really implausible storylines and interactions between characters that just made it really hard to get into the story line. The main character is pretty flat and under developed. The best part of the book is the description of the cacao plantation and process.
