Too old for this book
This was pretty boring and tedious to finish but I did it anyway. The story was typical fantasy but the dialogue felt immature like the Twilight series. The main characters were insufferable. The nickname little Duck and Princess grated on me. I was not invested in the characters and skimmed a lot.

Had to DNF - I had heard it was like a watered-down version of ACOTAR, but I loved ACOTAR so I was open to it. But this book was way too similar to the point that it felt like I was reading a plagiarized version of ACOTAR - which I feel guilty saying. But it was so similar that it made me uncomfortable continuing to read. I also already read ACOTAR so why would I want a less enjoyable version of it.

Got stronger along the way, but blatant comparisons can be drawn to ACOTAR. Not really in a good way, in a copy and paste way but it wasn’t as hard to read as some other books I’ve been pushing through lately.

Didn’t realize this was the first of a series and there’s currently no date on when the second book is coming out! I really enjoyed this story!

I honestly could not put this book down! This story was so good and really had me hooked from the start! Enemies to lovers, slow burn, one bed trope, one horse trope, self-sacrificing, biting k*nk, kn*feplay!!! A recipe for a perfect story! Thank you Dana for sending me an ARC of this! I can’t wait for book two!
