Immediately entangling and just waiting to drag you in, this first book is really a nice and golden light that leads you down the story of The Raven Cycle Series. We fell in love with the book easily, without giant hooks yanking you through the pages or twists throwing you back and forth and into every chapter. Gansey is the light that keeps you going, and everyone connecting and adjusting around him makes the story go back to him over and again.
The book by itself is a solid read, but once you go and dive deeper into the Series, it neatly sets the stage for the other ones, easily pushing you through the first adventure and into other ones moving forward.
