Repetitive childrens book with very fun illustrations. Great to pair with making a pizza or a bar graph activity of your favorite pizza. First grade.

um.. okay, I liked this one a modern retelling. its a little less ambitious, because although the hen has to cook, she has modern conveniences of supermarkets. then, the moral to the story was different, being hat the hen let her friends share her pizza. so, they helped her with the dishes since she did all the work. at first i didn't like the change at all. now, i like it, but don't love it. the illustrations are charming.

Children LOVE this book. I have yet to have a student that Sunday like this story. The language has predictable parts for the children to "read" and also has rich vocabulary that children need to be exposed to. It's a bit silly and catches student attention. At the end of this story the hen shares the pizza even though the others didn't help create it. Afterwards, her friends help her to do the dishes. I like this story's alternate ending to the Little Red Hen books by showing that kindness and forgiveness can be a better choice than revenge or punishment.

Way better than the classic storyline, and fun characters and illustrations.

A cute update to the classic folktale of the little red hen -- and with a happy ending! Invites audience to guess what the cat, duck, and dog will say to each of the hen's questions.
