While I loved [book:Silverwing], Sunwing was a huge disappointment. Despite the fact that Oppel ended it on a feel-good note, I didn't like the tone of the entire book. While Silverwing is a beautiful story about friendship and loyalty, Sunwing went in a rather strange direction with humans using the bats in warfare.

My friend really wanted me to read this for a long time. I enjoyed it quite a bit but animal stories just aren't my thing. The plot and characters were really original. It wrapped up very neat for a middle book so I feel no desire to read the third one.
