This was a really unique possession story- I listened to the audiobook and I think I missed some things and would like to revisit the physical book at some point. I really liked the characters, and the concept of the sin eater.

I loved the intersection/clash of old cultural beliefs and modern religious beliefs, especially the realistic depiction of how modern conservative culture punishes women for being in touch with their sexuality.
I understand that it's quite a short novella but I wished the other characters were more fleshed out, like their other friends, Ms. Camacho, and Mrs. Garcia. Despite the goddess mentioning how it was the girls' friendship that attracted her to them, it was mostly just Fernanda and Lourdes who got most of the spotlight aside from the brief mentions of how they became friends with the other girls.
The ending felt abrupt, especially with how matters were resolved and cleaned up after the turmoil caused by the climactic act of Father Moreno kidnapping Fernanda.
Overall though I think V Castro wrote a wonderful tale of female rage and would love to read more of their works.
