I really enjoyed the haunting of alejandra by V castro so I thought I would also enjoy this one. But I found this book no where compared to her other book. I feel like the book wanted to address a lot of issues, particularly sexism, but it failed to do so. The female characters are all Latin stereotypes, with the girls feeling sexualized and the mother being stereotypically (almost cartoonishly) mean. Also, despite being centered around women

the professor is shot and killed. her death being rushed and barely focused on

The characters also don't really speak like real people. And despite supposedly centered around the girls friendship and love for each other, we barely see them interact. The most interactions occur between Lourdes and Francesca, but not enough to make to plausible that

the goddess was drawn by their love for each other

Overall, pretty disappointing. Especially the ending
