I listened to the audiobook and really liked the narrator, but I just couldn’t handle the main character Jade. For example, Jade was talking to her friend Lainey who stole her boyfriend Silas (at the point I stopped it was unclear whether cheating occurred but I believe so). Lainey said something implying that Jade did something wrong and Jade just ? Lets it go? 😭 doesn’t even ask about it, wishes later that she had but said she was embarrassed. Girl why?! Why would you be embarrassed to call them out?! They clearly don’t care about you and if Lainey is making a scene and implying ur a bad person and not her the backstabber, don’t let her?! I just had to stop tbh. (This type of thing happened multiple times before I DNFed btw I just was over it)
Not to mention that Jade still loves Silas (even tho he’s equally responsible for what happened) and was self-admittedly stalking Lainey and Silas because she wanted to get Silas alone to ask him… you know I don’t even know what she would say and I don’t think she does either. Jade grabbed Silas’s hand for some bizarre reason and he pulled away immediately and the secondhand embarrassment I felt 💀 oh and the way Jade treated her new friends/roommates? I don’t wanna even get into it.
so yeah, I’m done. Just not for me!

I felt like if I was thinking hard enough about trying to figure out who the killer was I probably could have figured it out. And why the twins plot line necessary? But i was fully invested otherwise

I loved the narration on this one and it helped move the story along which kept me reading. The first half of the book felt very teen drama, and the way the FMC was pining for her awful ex was too much. Why do you miss him, he left you for your best friend!!! Then the murders started and it picked up pace and I enjoyed watching things unfold and trying to figure it all out. The reveal was a bit drawn out I thought and I didn’t like the inclusion of drugs, or some characters like the alcoholic twin - like what was the reason for them? Overall a fairly enjoyable read if you do the audio
