he killed this one. as his last collection written you could really feel the passion and fragility of his soul slip through his very crude writing style. and as you read his awareness of his ultimate demise sllows him to make some of his most beautiful poems. a great collection

It took me a while to read everything. His style is original, there is a good dose of darkness and self-deprecation mixed with an almost narcissistic vibe. Reading this feels like getting to know Bukowski, but I do not think we’d get along.

Charles Bukowski's poems are an interesting read, to say the least. Some poems read more like confusing short stories than anything else really, but others struck a cord deep within my soul and will probably remain tethered there for the rest of my life.

'The aliens', 'the bluebird', and 'downers' (among many others) I may never be able to forget.
