This was an interesting story. It dives into the complexities of everyone in ya business. It was a fresh, modern take in a country of tradition. We get different pov’s, generational differences, and the love that parents, aunties, and unwanted aunties give us. The writing style is light, and moves around. This author covers so hard topics, but writes in a way that doesn’t trigger maliciously . 

It takes a village.. This is the story of what happens when it’s time to evolve beyond.

Overall, the book is a lot fun and a a great pace to read. The ending just wasn’t m favourite, felt a little abrupt.

I love mess and I love family secrets, and this did not disappoint. As a book this was so fun but I think as a lesson about always chasing the next hot “look” it fell a little flat.

Overall, good book about complicated family relationships, secrets, self esteem, and societal expectations. Loved the thorough introspection and witty dialogue throughout.  However, the ending felt abrupt and incomplete. I wish the author had fleshed it out a bit more, as it felt a bit flat.
