I found this book in my kindle suggestion and it seemed like it would be a nice refreshing read and it really was.I really enjoyed this book and thought it was a super cute read.

One thing that was really confusing to me was the reason the MMC didn’t like the FMC. Like they avoid each other because they apparently don’t like each other but it’s really the MMC avoiding the FMC and since he’s avoiding her, she avoids him and it’s just a never ending cycle of this. Like trying to make their presence known but also not at the same time.
I get it was like she was taken in by his dad who couldn’t be bothered to get into contact with him but I never understood why he didn’t understand that it wasn’t her fault. Like the MMCs step mom was already the FMCs mom best friend from way before she was born AND the FMC had lost BOTH of her parents, it was only natural the MMCs step mom would want to step up for her. To me it was like why wouldn’t you want that for someone going through something like that.

I really enjoyed reading about the relationship between the FMC and the MMC but this was one of those books that was just more smut focused which didn’t make it bad but just simply wasn’t my favorite.
I didn’t really like how we don’t get to see actual development in their relationship. They kinda just spend an hour together here and there to train for her marathon thing (which we never actually see her do); and then like other little events here and there like his game and some award event and that’s about it. Everything else was strictly sex. They didn’t even go on a single date together; the one time they were going to it’s during the 3rd breakup act !?!?! and it never even happened.

I also wish there was more grovel in the 3rd breakup act because not only did he basically admit to hockey being more important than her but broke up with her ON HER BIRTHDAY and the way it’s resolved is kinda like
“i was super miserable during our time apart, I was just super stressed and couldn’t handle but I want this”
I also hated how the FMCs first instinct after running into the MMC was to KISS SOMEONE ELSE?!?!

Overall the book was really good It was just little things here and there that made the book kinda eh.

Note: I ACTUALLY NEEDED TO TAKE A MENTAL BREAK WHEN THE FMC JUST BLURTED OUT HOW SHE WANTED TO HAVE SEX WITH HIM INSTEAD OF JUST ADMITTING SHE LIKED HIM!!!

3.5⭐️ decently enjoyable but not memorable

I enjoyed this book, but I also thought it was very middle of the road for me. I was entertained and sucked into the story but I also thought it could have been executed a little better.

I listened to the audiobook and the narrators did a good job. I enjoyed the story and the H/h.

his was super cute and i really loved the way the couple developed. this author has been a hit for me every single time so far so it is time to buy all of their books because i am loving these stories and couples so much.
