4.75! such a good hockey read that I read it in one sitting

Harlow and Conor have a twisted tie to each other. It's not wonder they stay out of each other's way at college. Training for a marathon will change all of that. I loved this story. You feel for Harlow because she is caught in the middle, but she begins to understand that there are two sides to every story and maybe Conor isn't the person she believes him to be. Great story line!

Another 3.5 book. On the good side of 3 stars. I loved both of the main characters. The build up to the reveal to what caused them to hate each other was so well done. They both grew while learning other perspective. Not really a slow burn.. more like hate each other to hate each other with benefit to the eventual falling. Loads of good tropes and done right.

The two MC have a history, but we don’t know about it for a bit. But as a friendship blooms, we find out more about their history. The tension and the banter was fantastic. Few cringe moments, but not too hardcore that can’t be overlooked. The MMC was so sweet and considerate.

I freaking can’t stop reading hockey romances. They kill me.

Not a slow burn.

This book was good, but it was nothing great. There are a couple of things that I feel were just missed or overlooked as a part of the plot and it was a little confusing. For instance, Harlow is at first a hockey fan because she watched games with her father, but when she watches Conor’s game, she seems to know nothing about the sport? But overall it wasn’t terrible. Also, there was barely anything about how she lost her parents. Conor’s animosity towards his dad was a little unwarranted.

4.5 ⭐️’s rounded up (and I never found up)

This is my introduction to CW Farnsworth and it couldn’t have been better.

I’m really into forbidden romance stories right now and this felt like the perfect mix of that trope along with plenty of angst and swoon to go along with it.

Technically this could fall under sports romance, and while there was plenty of hockey, it felt like so much more. I really loved that Harlow fell for her best friends estranged brother. I loved following that story and learning about the fallout within that family. I love that the conflicts never felt contrived but were natural consequences of actions. And the writing! The style is just so perfect. It’s calm. It’s introspective while still giving us plenty of dialogue and character interactions. It was just so smooth and well done. Can’t say enough good things about this book.

I mean, it was a book I saw on Tik Tok by the author (which I usually never follow up with and read), however, I took a chance. Alas, it was a college hockey romance that was alright, kind of a weird conflict and not enough fmc backstory.
