This is my first book by this author, and I was pleasantly surprised! I tend to read my trusted author list, especially when my personal world is out of control.
This book was a really great read! Just enough sports to be a sports romance (and I don’t know hockey, so I also didn’t feel like it was heavy handed either) I loved Harlow & Conor, they were a perfect pair for an enemies to lovers trope!
I strongly suggest you lace up and read this one

I lean more towards romantasy vs. just romance, so went into this just to give it a go. Honestly surprised how much I LOVED this. Ate it up. Demolished.

Harlow & Conor… dammit!

How can I put into words how much I loved them?? I was obsessed with their chemistry from their very first encounter—it was sooo effortless between them 😭💖 The banter? Ugh!! Chef’s kiss! And he definitely, 100% falls first 🤭

The story is great. I’m a hockey romance girlie, so it was only natural for me to love the plot. And honestly? I understood Conor’s mindset during the third act breakup (yes, there is one—and no, for the first time EVER, I didn’t hate it). He was so in love with Harlow, and his love language was acts of service from the very beginning, so how can you not fall for the guy? 😭❤️‍🩹 Conor Hart… the man that you are 😮‍💨

And my dear Harlow… oh, I loved her. I just wish we’d gotten to see more of her professional side—I really liked the whole marine biologist angle. She’s such a strong character: funny, easygoing, and incredibly understanding 😅🫶🏻

I also enjoyed the dynamic between Harlow and the Garrisons, and I’m so glad that in the end, it wasn’t that much of a problem for Harlow and Conor 🥹

Long story short: I enjoyed this book so, so, SO much. I wouldn’t rate it this high if I didn’t—you know I don’t lie about how I feel about books 😅🤭

I hope you give this one a shot if it feels like your vibe! 💖

Slow to get started but ultimately far more emotional than I anticipated
The beginning of this one felt kind of basic and hard to latch onto and be invested and know what was going on (also like weird how there was like mentioning that history existed between Connor and Harlow but not explaining what it was for a hot second??) but ended up being cute and with surprising emotional depth and maturity
