This book was great, but never lived up to the hope I’d built around following reading The Count of Monte Cristo. It’s adventurous and in some parts really fun, but was slightly ruined for me by the way women are used and portrayed
I also believe that some of what D’Artagnan did would constitute as rape with today’s morals - it should have done them too!

I loved this book. It was engaging, fast paced, and incredibly interesting. The characters are all heavily flawed, making none particularly likeable, but you still end up attached to them and their story. It is nothing like any of the movies or shows, however, so don't go in expecting it to match up completely.

Poor d’Artagnan is going to go grey very early, it should really be called the
Ten
Musketeers, Lady de Winter is awesome, Athos gave the sickest burn of all time. 8.5/10.

Highlights: The interactions between the four friends, the surmounting court intrigue.
