This book was extremely interesting. I usually don't like space novels but this one was an exception.
I love how advanced they were that they didn't care about sexuality or gender. I also find it quite interesting that they have such advance technology that they can alter their appearances so much that most people can't recognize them without their specific features they keep to be identifiable.
I really liked Nemesis as a character. I found that I related to her. I like how she was so ruthless and that while she was supposed to be pretty much emotional-less she was actually a slave to her emotions.
I think that for all the hardships she went through she was a very fortunate girl. She had the love of not one but two people who were willing to do anything for her.
The royal family and nobles were similar to what I've read in the past. They were all corrupt and horrible human beings that only catered to their own selfish desires.
I'm actually curious what the next book is about as I'm not sure the book needs a second one. :)

I was hooked after chapter 3. The world was so interesting and well built and I loved the power dynamics. I loves the MC and all of the supporting characters. This is not a coherent review help me. I just loved this book a lot.

3,5 Sterne, die Grundidee gefiel mir richtig gut, ich hätte die Geschichte wahrscheinlich richtig gefeiert wenn es kein Jugendbuch gewesen wäre (wobei ich natürlich vorher wusste, dass es ein Jugendbuch ist).
Gerade am Anfang gefiel mir der Aufbau der dystopischen Zukunft mit auf viele Galaxien verstreute Menschen und mit Gentechnik geschaffenen Lebewesen richtig gut, da die Idee echt Potenzial bietet und an sich schon sehr interessant ist. Das Konzept der Diabolics fand ich auch gut umgesetzt, vor allem wenn man später mehr über sie erfährt. Auch das diktatorische Regime mit dem grausamen Herrscher war meiner Meinung nach überzeugend.
Nemesis als Hauptfigur war gut gewählt und es war echt spannend, ihre Gedankengänge zu verfolgen da sie eben nicht denkt wie die typische Hauptfigur und man merkt, dass sie eben nicht menschlich ist. Wobei genau der Punkt später wieder revidiert wird, denn der große Plottwist ist dass Diabolics eben doch eigene Gefühle haben und sich gar nicht so sehr von Menschen unterscheiden. Auch bei Nemesis merkt man spätestens ab der Hälfte des Buches, dass sie durchaus eigene Gefühle hat, was sie selbst total verunsichert.
Generell fand ich die Plottwists im Buch richtig gut, das Einzige was mich persönlich etwas gestört hat war der Fokus auf die Liebesgeschichte ab der 2. Hälfte. Ich fand es durchaus ok, dass die beiden sich näher gekommen sind, aber ich persönlich finde dass es doch etwas sehr kitschig wurde. Allein die politischen Intrigen drum herum haben diesen Teil für mich interessant gehabt und auch das dadurch aufkeimende Misstrauen zwischen Nemesis und Tyrus. Ich bin schon sehr gespannt wie es im nächsten Band weitergeht, da ich mir nicht vorstellen kann dass zwischen den beiden jetzt alles gut ist und ich schon etwas Angst vor einem typischen "Mittelband-Beziehungskonflikt" habe.
Grundsätzlich hat mir dieser Reihenauftakt jedoch gefallen und ich werde die Reihe auf jeden Fall weiterlesen.

What a great sci-fi book! Set in space, an engineered human, called a Diabolic, is designed to kill to protect the person they were created for.
They supposedly have no humanity, no emotions and care for no one but that one person they were made for. As we read Nemesis' journey, we find that that isn't the case at all.
Heart wrenching, brutal, joyful and shocking, this book catapulted to one of my new favourites.

Angst, anxiety, romance, action packed, numerous plot twists and cruel.
An author who isn't afraid to kill people in a very detailed and horrific way haha,damn :O
