I really enjoyed this. I thought the main charcter was interesting and her growth was fulfilling. The love interest was lovable and very fit for her. the only complain I have is that her love interest is smarter than her. He's the scheme and the planner and I don't like it.
the range of emotions this book made me go through, im both scared and excited for what will happen next.
Good YA dystopian read set in outer space. I enjoyed it.

Before kicking off this book review of The Diabolic. I would like to thank my dearest bff Zel @thebookmetropolis for sending me this gorgeous book as a christmas present. I was so happy that I have the chance to read this amazing book.
Nemesis is a Diabolic, made to protect and kill. She’s the protector of Sidonia and they’re attached to each other. One day the Emperor summons Sidonia to the galactic court as a hostage. In order to protect Sidonia, Nemesis took her place and she became Sidonia.
It took me months to finally read this book and I’ve heard some mixed reviews from my fellow pinoy bookstagrammers. They said that this book is kind of confusing. I thought that maybe because of its wolrd building. When I started reading this book and I’m 100 pages on it. I was so amazed and I can’t stop reading it. The world building was amazing and it was a fast pace read.
The Characters :
We have Nemesis a Diabolic made to protect and kill. She’s so badass guys! and she’s not your typical cliche badass girl. She’s struggling with her emotions because diabolics are not supposed to have emotions. Then we have Tyrus the heir to the galactic empire. He’s crazy and I’m crazy in love with him. I don’t want to spoil you guys about him coz his character development was exciting and I don’t want to steal that thrill from you guys. All I can say about him is that he’s going to be in your BookBoyfie list. Then we have are super villains, I don’t want to spoil you guys about them but they’re ruthless.
The Plot :
For me the plot was amazing it has plot twist and I love everything about it except the ending. For me it felt so rushed, I was expecting a savage ending that usually happens in every ya fantasy/scifi book that I’ve read. I was very disappointed with the ending.But screw that coz this supposed-to-be-standalone book is having a sequel. So there’s a hope for me that there will be a better conclusion in the sequel. As for the world builing, all I can say is that its amazing and its better than “Carve The Mark”. There are some brutal scenes for me like one of the characters in the story skinned herself, then there’s also an attempt of drug rape in of the characters, also a lot of brutal killings that gave me chills. As for the romance, its a swoon-worthy guys! if you’re a follower of my bookstagram and you’ve watch all my mild spoilers/swooning over Nemesis & Tyrus moments.
All in all, this book is almost on my top 10 list of favorite books. But sadly coz of that disappointing rushed ending it didn’t make it to the top 10. But still I’m going to read its sequel and I hope it will be as good and more better than the first book.

The Diabolic is definitely my favourite sci-fi series. There were high stakes, thrilling romance, compelling main characters, and great world-building.
