I'm currently stuck between 2 books which I'm losing motivation for so this was a nice distraction while on holiday to cleanse the palate. It turns out Reacher works quite well in small doses. T
These short stories, vignettes and novellas are still somewhat patchy (much like the full length novels) but there's a lot to like and some fun (if not sometimes ludicrous) situations. I particularly liked the flashback stories detailing his time in the MP. Good fun and you know what you're going to get.

A book of his short stories. A few just a few pages, others 100+ pages. Classic Reacher.
A couple of these short stories were so poor I struggled to finish them. Whilst others were pretty enjoyable.
I do wonder though, whilst Reacher is continuously spoken of as having a toothbrush, he doesn't seem to carry deodorant....

All short stories with Jack Reacher. Even if you have read any of them in the past, it’s worth the time to read them again. Never get tired of Jack Reacher.

Overall, an interesting collection of short stories about Jack Reacher. I think I prefer the full length stories. Some stories were great (Too Much Time) and some were weak (Not a Drill). The final few were too short to make any difference or impact into who Reacher is.
Like most short story collections, there are winners and less successful entries in this book. I very much enjoyed "Second Son," in which we meet thirteen year-old Jack Reacher as his Marine Corps family settles into a new posting in Okinawa. (To say that 13-yr-old Jack seems a bit too adult is putting it lightly, but the story is still good.) The other choice entry is "High Heat," in which Lee Child manages to locate a 16-year-old Reacher in New York City in the summer of the Son of Sam murders--and on the night of the historic 1977 black-out.
I always enjoy spending time with Reacher, and he's more fun in his younger years. I'd imagine Child enjoys imagining and writing Reacher as a youngster, too. It shows.
Some of the other stories are just so-so, but that's what you get with such collections. I'd say read this if you love Reacher, but don't bother buying it.
